FAQs

1. my work schedule does not allow me to attend lessons every week, what should I do?
The concept of lessons is different from paying for one lesson and completing it by paying for that hour, or paying for a coupon or coupon ticket and enjoying it only at that time. Communication in the classroom and between teacher-student can be totally unrestricted, either in totality or privately, via email, phone, Facebook, or LINE. You will never feel behind in your lessons. Hand motions and basic exercises are allowed to be videoed during the lesson. In some cases, make-up lessons will be given. All costs are included in the monthly fee and no additional fees will be charged.
In addition, the content of the lessons is not limited to dancing, but also includes lei making and other hula-related creations that can be done at home.
Progress is also communicated and reported freely.

2. Can I join or leave the school freely? Is it a monthly fee system? Is it a ticket system?
You can join or leave freely. There is no admission fee. The monthly fee is the same no matter how many times you attend a lesson during the month. The idea behind the monthly fee is that it is collected as a monthly activity fee; you are not charged per lesson. If you feel that you do not have enough lessons, we will give you a separate make-up lesson for free.
The classroom is a “family,” a place to learn while supporting each other and building relationships. The most important thing is to be able to communicate and learn together.

3. can I bring my child with me or arrive late or leave early?

No problem. You don’t have to wait in another room during the lesson.

4. Is it a large group lesson? Can I have private lessons?
Hula Hālau is a hula school (school). In terms of hula technique, it is how we smooth the path to progress, and we spend a lot of time teaching you how to do so.
It also fosters respect for nature, a spirit of helping each other as human beings, a sense of camaraderie, and a sense of family. If the student’s purpose for joining a hula school is not compatible with the hula school’s purpose, it may cause the student to drop out, so we recommend that the student experience the hula before joining.
Make-up lessons may be provided, but there is no additional lesson fee.
